Attentiongetter quote?

i am writing an essay that links two surprisingly similar topics together (scientific advancement and the search for happiness - how they can benefit and hinder mankind) that also relate to my book, Cats Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut, so as an attention getter, i want to use a quote that says good things can be bad, something like "not everything is waht it seems," something to that extent.

i have already tried the site quotegarden.com, but i cant seem to find any quotes that fit my description. so, i ask of you to search for a quote that does.
