We are buying a house with the attic door outside in the carport. I am going to have to use that area for quite a bit of storage and don't want someone just walking up and getting in there. Do they make some kind of remote controlled lock so I wont have to use a hasp and get a ladder everytime I want to go up????? All answers will be appreciated!

  1. Yes indeed.  Look for magnetic locks on the Internet.  You will probably want it to be locked when deenergized, to save power.

You will need the lock, a suitable power supply, a switch and wire.

  2. Locksmith shops carry quite a variety of locks.  They might have what you are looking for - maybe something with a keypad to open the lock.
