The Serie B manager of the year has laid out the plan of action his team has to follow if they are to win, and has already stated that each game is like a final.
Credit has to be given to Tesser for his amazing set of results at Novara upon his return to the club. He had been harshly treated by the Novara Board, who fired him midway
through the season for their 15th place position in the Serie A. However, after his successor made things worse by plunging them into the 19th position in the table, Tesser was called up by the club to take control of the situation.
He was extremely optimistic on his return to the club, and many felt that the Italian would not be able to back his words with the necessary performances. Even though the
club still languish in the 19th position and are eight points behind safety, Novara have surprised everyone over the past three weeks.

After Tesser’s return, Novara have picked up seven points from a possible nine available. What has been even more impressive is the fact that they managed to register victories
against the then third-placed Udinese and currently 15th placed AC Siena. They would not have been expected to take much out of those games and the fact that they secured maximum points against the teams, suggests that they have been greatly buoyed
by the arrival of Tesser.
Novara’s next challenge will be to the inconsistent AS Roma, but it will be a tough tie for the Piedmont side nevertheless. Speaking on the importance of the remaining fixtures to
his side, Tesser remarked:
“At this point, all are key stages and this match against Roma - as well as all the others that lie ahead - is difficult and important. Under the conditions we currently
find ourselves in, we must get a result in every game.”
The former Padova manager is confident that the Biancoazzurri would be able to overcome the Giallorossi threat, and commented:
“The ranking is not the only thing driving us - first we have to answer to ourselves, we must
honour and respect this shirt. In Rome, I expect a positive result, because in football you should always play to win. Even if the game goes badly,
we must not give up in any way.”
The match will be played at the Stadio Olimpico, with a lot resting on the match for both the outfits.
