Attitude of People on Answers...?

Question

I know I am going to get a lot of negative feed back on this but oh well...

Why do people on here have such terrible better than you are attitudes with people? This is a forum that caters to many varieties of people of many ages! Why do you need to tear down innocent questions that are sincerely looking for answers?

I really wish that the people who are like that would find somewhere else to vent their frustration if that is the attitude they are going to take.

What are your opinions?

Welcome to the internet.

You know, it's sort of the "mask" mentality.

When your identity isn't known and there aren't and personal, conscious repercussions for you actions (not talking about punishment, but more about the fact that you'll never meet this person in your life and thus don't associate social conduct with them) you tend to not care about your slander, even if this is unintentional. It's really easy to be an a*****e on the internet, so people do it.

However, for the political discussions it's probably because people are very opinionated and do think they're right. That's a different realm though and doesn't have to do with the internet, for people are the same way in real life too.

On the internet, there are no consequences for insulting people, bragging, etc.  You don't have to reveal your real identity to do so as well.  Shy people in real life also tend to express themselves more actively online to "make up for lost time" in a way, but not always so don't generalize.

Yes this is true, some people are just so inconsiderate.

However, realise that the question is open to all sorts of personalities, ages and communities, therefore be prepared for unique opinions.

Sometimes we just don't relate or agree, try not to take all responses personally.

Appreciate the ones that make sense to you and disregard those of no meaning.

Hey Chick I completely agree with you!! I depend on the answers community a lot to help me resolve questions, and sometimes people can be down right ignorant, and mean in there comments. Glad I'm not the only one that noticed!:-)

I hear ya.  So many of the answers are just snarly. I don't think it is a "better than you are" attitude - I think is is insecurity disguised as arrogance.  They get two useless points for answering and they choose to be mean.  Maybe some of these people are  relentlessly picked on at school and the only way they can "get back" is to do it annonymously on a forum such as this.
