No, he was great at the Derby and he will be great at the Belmont.  However, a horse with great speed like Pyro, Anak Nakal, or possibly even Colonel John will win the Preakness in 2 weeks.  The track is a great track for speed riders and at 1 mile the closers will not be as tired as they were on Saturday.  But don't throw Big Brown out of your trifecta, he will be towards the top.

He has had some problems with his hooves, which is one of the reasons he's so lightly raced.  Rick Dutrow thinks he's got the issue resolved with special shoes, but I think soundness is a unfortunate question mark for him.  That said, the talent is there.  He's miles ahead of the rest of his class.

Yes I think if he stays healthy he has the best shot since Affirmed.

I think he has a great shot.  So far, he has won all of the races he has ran in, albeit very few.  But winning by 4 lengths in the Kentucky Derby from the 20th post position is an incredible feat.  If Eight Belles had not been running, his lead would have been much longer, possibly 8 lengths.  With Eight Belles sadly out of the competition, I honestly don't think Big Brown has much competition if he keeps running the way he does.  After the Derby was over, it didn't look like he had even broken out in a sweat, and he was practically bouncing, as though he knew he won and wanted to run even more.  That's a horse that loves to run, and I think he has the most promise of winning the Triple Crown than we have seen in years.

He is undefeated, and won the Derby, but, The Belmont is the longest race in the Triple Crown, if he has run and won a race of that length, then I think he has a great chance. It'll be the first winner in 30 years.

i was at the derby and i think he has a pretty good shot. he hasn't had a loss yet and seems to be really fresh so it'll be exciting to see what happens. it's been FOREVER since there was a triple crown winner and i think we're overdue for one. i still think barbaro could have got the triple crown, though :(
