Question:

Attn: Winos/Connoisseurs?

I am 22 and want to experience wine. I have had a few (I couldn't tell you the name though). I do not like anything super sweet or extremely bitter, and it HAS TO BE COLD. In fact the colder the better. The less expensive the better also. Avoiding an aftertaste would be nice too.

Any suggestions from some veteran winos >< I mean connoisseurs?

  1. Go for a rose wine (pink wine - not rose like the flower but rose like pink! pronounced ros-ay)). A cross between red and white. Most certainly should be drunk cold. It's a good start and mostly they are fresh and crisp. They are great for the summer and a great intoroduction to wine. Some are a little "fruit sweet" but not sugary.

  2. I would break into it gently and try a Martini Rossi Red Vermouth on the rocks or an apertif like Dubonnet first.

Dubonnet (doo-bun-ay). This is an aromatic aperitif made from red and white wine. On the rocks is nice.
