I work for a company who just started an online store, and I am helping to put the store together. If you have any suggestions to what we can do to attract customers ( we know about customer service etc.).. please let us know. How do you get more traffic to your site. Thanks much guys.

The first thing you need to do is start submitting your site to the search engines, then make sure you join the traffic exchanges, that is very time consuming, but if you want traffic, you have to do the work. you are selling stuff so the appropriate model is to use PPC advertising with google's adwords or yahoo's advertising.

the rest is to smartly budget your cost per acquisition.

for example, if you pay 25c per one visitor and 1% of your visitors turn into customers, your cost-per-acquisition will be $25 ; the perfect will be if you can make back your ad money in one sale but sometimes it is good to spend even slightly more than you make just because there is a high chance that a happy customer once will buy from you twice and more.
