Atv rim question?

carbon fibre rims or aluminum rims. i am wondering which ones are better for racing with. what are the pros and cons of each type of rim? thank you for your time

  1. you are racing atvs?

    Aluminum would be cheaper, carbon fibre would be lighter. Aluminum bends easily, CF can't bend, but if a transverse force is applied, can crack easily- and it is impossible to repair.


  2. It all depends on what type of racing. I race XC and use the carbon fiber from Hiper Technology. You can get the fronts with or without beadlocks. They will flex a little which is good, once the aluminum bends, they are pretty much junk. They are a little heavier, but you would never know it racing. Also, look into tireballs, you can put these in your tires and basically run no air. You can get a puncture in one, and still be able to run.
