On December 19, 2012, Brazilian winger Nene chose to submit a formal transfer request to leave the club in the winter transfer window, thus ending months of psychological ordeal that was inflicted on him by the club management
After months of speculations linking him with a move away from Parc des Princes, Brazilian winger chose to end his time with Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain after submitting an official transfer request.
Since the arrival of Qataris as the club’s new owners, many people feared for Nene’s future at the Ile club. Despite being an impulsive and emotional person, Nene was one of the player’s at the club who was idolised by fans and enjoyed a cult status among
them.
On July 11, 2010, Nene was signed by Paris Saint-Germain for around 5.5 million euros from AS Monaco. The winger arrived at Parc des Princes with the reputation of one of the most technically gifted players in the country and the one who can take a game
by the scruff of his neck.
After a long time, PSG fans were able to witness a player who had the flair and free kick abilities that a certain man named Ronaldinho did all those years ago. After spending a little over three years near the Saint-Germain area, Nene has definitely left
a mark on Paris Saint-Germain’s history.
Just like Rai, Leonardo and Ronaldinho, Nene brought that traditional Brazilian samba style football at Parc des Princes which Ligue 1 teams crave for.
Despite his shortcomings and excessive individualism, Nene was the heart and soul of Paris Saint-Germain for the last two seasons. Last season, the Brazilian was the club’s top scorer and the season before that, he was the league’s top scorer.
Since the arrival of the Qatari Investment Authority and especially the appointment of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Pastore-c18082
from US Citta di Palermo. The young midfielder was presented as the club’s new messiah and many thought that El Flaco’s arrival could spell an end to Nene’s time at the club.
However, the Brazilian was not going to give up so easily and through his performances, showed why he has a place at the club. However, this year’s summer transfer market and the dealings conducted by the club signalled an end to what Nene meant for the
club especially the fans.
In the summer, the Brazilian tried long and hard to broker a contract extension which was to expire in June 2013. However, knowing that they have other options to rely upon, PSG chose not to listen to the player who had done so much for the club before the
arrival of the Qataris.
The current season has been a torturous one for Nene as he was constantly ignored by Carlo Ancelotti who gave him just five starts which is something many fans cannot fathom.
With the way the management has dealt with him, Nene had no other option but to ask for a transfer despite his love for the club and the city. The player’s agent, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gilvan-c14916 Costa said that Ancelotti has been forced to field players that Leonardo buys.
“Nene is not angry against Ancelotti. He likes him. The problem is that Ancelotti is forced to play guys that Leonardo signed,” says http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Costa-c9458.
The forthcoming departure of Nene would signal an end to the old era of Paris Saint-Germain where a player’s achievements were duly rewarded.
