Auckland Claims victory against Pakistan
It seems as if tough time for Pakistan cricket team hasn’t been over yet as it has been embarrassingly defeated by comparatively an infant team of Auckland right at the start of its tour to New Zealand.
While playing a T20, which was a warm up match for the upcoming 3 match series, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-c89347 Afridi’s boys couldn’t go beyond 91 runs. And for putting mere 25 on the board, Umar Akmal ended up as the highest scorer of the side.
Generally perceived as the best bowling attack in the world, Pakistani bowlers’ performance against Auckland went on correcting their spectators and cricket fans. Except Shoaib Akhtar and Saeed Ajmal, who succeed in bagging two wickets each, none of the
Pakistani bowlers could challenge the batsmen representing the Black Caps.
Playing their first match at Colin Maiden Park, the visitors gave away their first two wickets in the first over as Matthew Bates proved too hot to be controlled by Muhammad Hafeez and Ahmed Shehzad. Both of them had been sent back to pavilion for four runs
on the board.
Making the match a totally one sided play, Bates successfully claimed Pakistani skipper’s wicket in his next over. By the fourth over, Pakistan was standing at 11 runs and had lost three of its precious wickets. In taking the scores to 91, Younas Khan’s
18 runs as well as Umar’s contribution of precious 25 runs played an important role.
In fourth wicket partnership, team Pakistan managed to get a bit of control of the match and made 38 runs, after that, for seventh wicket partnership, for respectively contributing 16 and 19 runs, Abdul Razzaq and Umar Gul secured a partnership of 31 runs.
Team http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 was all out when it still had 14 balls to go from 20 overs.
Contrary to team Pakistan, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Auckland-c766 opened its turn more confidently and provided 28 runs’ partnership for first wicket. The highest score of the match was also displayed by the black caps when Guptill remained unbeaten at 28 runs. The side achieved the
total in mere 13.2 overs.
With such a pathetic start of the tour, the hopes from team Pakistan to perform well against much experienced and professional team of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 has gone down. Moreover, if the same squad is going to represent the country in the Cricket World Cup, it will
be difficult for it to clear even the initial rounds of the event.
