A half-ton from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wellington-c864 Firebirds to a 10-run win over the Auckland Aces, in their match during the ongoing HRV Cup, played at the Eden Park in Auckland, today on December 28.
The visitors won the toss and chose to bat first, but suffered an early blow with the dismissal of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KD-Mills-c1781 (4-0-49-1). However, Ryder put them on a promising track with an individual contribution of 60 off
53, and teamed up with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Michael-Papps-c1961 (38) for a 61-run stand for the second wicket.

a 3rd-wicket 79-run stand.
Ryder finally succumbed to Matthew Quinn (3-0-24-1) in the 14th over, leaving the Firebirds at 140 for 3. From there onwards, the visitors were only able to register a handful of mediocre contributions, and the 16th over saw Adams taking
both Ronchi and skipper Grant Elliott (4) out of the game.
Dimitri Mascarenhas was the last player who managed to reach double digits, and remained unbeaten on 19. Scott Kuggeleijn (6) was the last batsman to fall, and by the end of 20 overs, with Mascarenhas and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Harry-Boam-c1536 (6*) at the crease, Wellington posted
a solid final total of 184.
Auckland’s innings was driven almost entirely by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AD-Mascarenhas-c912, Scott Kuggeleijn, and Dane Hutchinson shared
the spoils between themselves and picked up one wicket each.
In addition to Mustard, wicketkeeper skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Craig-Cachopa-c51669 (24), and Donovan Grobbelaar (15*) managed to reach double figures. The remainder were insipid, and collapsed without progressing beyond single-digit scores. By the end of 20
overs, the Auckland Aces were cut off at 174 for 5, and the Wellington Firebirds went on to claim victory by a margin of 10 runs.
