Audacious attempt at Nottingham for The Queen

We haven’t been doing too badly here at Bettor.com with our tipping lately so hopefully we can find a few more winners from the card at Nottingham today.

King Cobra looks set to inject some venom in the Nottingham Red Box Recorders Simply, Smarter, Voice Nursery Handicap. He stayed on fourth in heavy conditions at Folkestone last time out and should continue improving. He’s back to six furlongs today and could be the one to beat. But in a field of 16 anyone can come through, so don’t rule out Richard Hughes’ ride Prophet in a dream or West Leake Melody.

The Nottingham European Breeders' Fund Maiden Stakes 1m (division 2) should provide The Queen with a winner as Audacious provides strong claims. He finished fourth in a one mile maiden at the Doncaster St ledger meeting last month. He finished behind Picture Editor – who won by 30 lengths yesterday – and Genius Beast – who has gone on to win – so form suggests he will be the one to beat here. The Stoute yard has won both divisions of this race previously and with Arc de Triomphe winner Ryan Moore on board you can be sure he’ll get a good ride. The soft ground is an unknown for the horse but he still should have enough to beat the opposition.

In the European Breeders' Fund Maiden Stakes(5) 6f (division 1) Enlightening and Lion Court look set to battle it out for first place. Enlightening finished second in its last two runs and if the softer conditions suit, will be a major player. Lion Court looked slightly wild in his only start at Haydock last month. Should be much better after that experience and with a run on soft ground under his belt could be worth a punt at 6/1. Enlightening looks to have a bit more class and experience over Lion Court.
