Question:

Audi A4 Quattro Check Oil light?

I recently had a #4 cyl engine coil go out and replaced. The mechanic said I had a small oil leak in 2 other cylinders but it was nothing serious. The next day my check oil light came on and after having the oil changed, the light is still on. Its an Audi A4 1.8 Quattro. Any advice?

  1. When check oil light comes, this indicates that the engine oil pressure is too low.  Have the oil leak serviced before it leads to a major problem that could cause you a lot of cash and headache.

  2. Hey, are you sure it's not the maintenance light your seeing? And maybe they forgot to reset it when they changed the oil?

It sounds to me like the oil leaks you have wouldn't be enough to cause a loss of oil pressure.

Unless, they forgot to put oil/didn't put enough oil in the engine. Then you can have a serious problem. I'd check the oil level, to be safe.
