Audi Azzurra Sailing Team struggles at 2011 Region of Sardinia Trophy: 2011 Audi MedCup Circuit
Brutal weather conditions at the Gulf of Cagliari have troubled Audi Azzurra Sailing Team as they tumbled down to number seven in the standings. The first two days of 2011 Region of Sardinia Trophy
were quite unlucky for the team as they were wobbled by the North Westerly Cagliari Mistral blowing around 30 knots, which dominated the racing area.
However, the position of Audi Azzurra Sailing Team has not disturbed their overall standings of 2011 Audi MedCup Circuit and they still remain at the third place after two events. Things can be more
problematic in the future if the team doesn’t do well in the later part of the race.
In sports like sailing, fate matters more than skill, as at times it favours the sailors while other times, it goes against them. Audi Azzurra Sailing Team needs to pull up their socks to not only
retain their position overall but also improve their standings in the current regatta of 2011 Region of Sardinia Trophy at the Gulf of Cagliari in Sardinia.
While speaking to the local media, Audi Azzurra Sailing Team's strategist Vasco Vascotto said, “We must learn from our mistakes, which are costing us dearly. We sailed badly and we regret that, but
we can do better than these performances.”
He added, “We feel we can recover, the gap from first place is 10 points. We will see the results at the end of the week, for now we need to concentrate on doing well tomorrow.”
