Audi MedCup Circuit 2011 hits Cartagena, Spain to launch 2011 Region or Murcia Trophy: Sailing News
Audi MedCup Circuit regattas have been quite successful so far with splendid races and now it is heading towards Cartagena, Spain for the commencement of its fourth regatta trophy, the Region of Murcia Trophy. The fourth leg of five regatta trophies will
be commencing from Tuesday, August 23 to Sunday, August 28 at the above mentioned venue.
The racing area at Cartagena in Spain is surrounded by high scrubby and rocky hills from three sides which causes sudden changes in wind direction and in sea depth producing short aggressive steep waves which are a real test of the skills of sailors from
both TP52 and Soto 40 series.
The 2011 Audi MedCup Circuit has featured three different trophy winners so far in the previous three regattas of the season. America’s Quantum Racing grabbed the first trophy, the Cascais Trophy, followed by Germany’s Container who won the Marseille Trophy
in France while the third and recent regatta, the Region of Sardinia Trophy, was clinched by the Franco-German Audi Sailing Team Powered by All4One.
However, with the help of a consistent good sail, America’s Quantum Racing is currently leading the overall standings of the Audi MedCup Circuit with 91 points in all three regattas.
