Audi Sailing Team and Iberdrola Team lead on day two of 2011 Audi MedCup Region of Sardinia Trophy
Day two of 2011 Region of Sardinia Trophy, the third regatta of 2011 Audi MedCup Circuit, finished leaving a new leader at the standings. The Audi Sailing Team Powered by All4One topped TP52 yacht
series after grabbing third place in both races of the day. On the other hand, Spain’s Iberdrola Team started their Soto 40 series race brilliantly finishing first.
Despite tough weather conditions, where Cagliari Mistral blowing up to 25 knots troubled many sailors, Jochen Schuemann and Sebastien Col along with their crew of Audi Sailing Team Powered by All4One
sailed tremendously on second day. They earned two third-placed finishes to steal the overall lead from Germany’s Container.
Container, who led the first day with a solid three points, nudged down on second as they finished seventh and fourth in two races respectively. America’s Quantum Racing, who were right at the bottom
at the end of first day, suddenly jumped to third place overall, after finishing second and first in both races respectively.
In the Soto 40 yacht series, an impressive sail from Spain’s Iberdrola Team brought them on top of the standings followed by compatriots Noticia IV with four points.
