Audi defeats Elangeni Ranch in Polo Gear-RoxWorld TV Invitational: Polo Recap
Hector Galindo marked the game-winner in the final minute, as Audi powered an 8-7 victory over Elangeni Ranch in the opening round of the Polo Gear-RoxWorld TV Invitational. The contested game took place at the Palm City Polo Club in Boca Raton, city of
Florida.
The two teams started the game quite maturely, but it was Audi that drew the first blood. Elangeni Ranch received two goals in the head of handicaps.
From the other side, Melissa Ganzi scored a couple of goals while his team-mate, Juan Bollini, chipped in a single goal in the opening seven and half minutes of the play. However, the resilient defence from Audi did not allow the opponent side to add any
goal onto the score-board. The opening chukka ended with Audi leading the game by a single point, 3-2.
The second round was too belonged to Audi which obtained a solitary goal, while holding Elangeni Ranch goal-less in the consecutive second period. Bollini scored his second and team’s fourth goal of the match to increase the tally up to two points, 4-2.
In the third set of play, the two teams exchanged one goal and moved forward in the second half of play. Joey Casey made a lengthy ride to bring his team into the score-net with a solitary field goal. From the other side, Bollini accounted for a goal to
retain their lead, 5-3 at the halftime.
The pace of the game slightly increased in the second half of play. Mellissa Ganzi scored a goal from the field to further expand the Audi lead. But, Diego Coscio converted a penalty shot from Elangeni Ranch to prove their presence. Audi was leading the
game by two points, 6-4, with two chukkas left to play.
In the second last round, the two sides swapped one goal. Bollini nailed a goal for Audi, while Casey managed it for Elangeni Ranch. The two teams moved into the final set of play with Audi holding a two-goal edge, 7-5.
The strikers from Elangeni Ranch cranked up their offence in the final chukka when Casey notched a goal to reduce the lead down to a single goal. In the meantime, Coscio made an effort from the field to tie the game at seven-all.
In the last minute of the game, Hector Galindo managed to steal the ball away and struck a powerful shot to seal the victory for Audi at 8-7.
Bollini was highest scorer of the game with four notches while his team-mates, Melissa Ganzi and Hector Galindo, scored three and one goal each in the victory.
On the other side, Casey set the pace for Elangeni Ranch with three goals while his team-mate Coscio accounted for two goals in the loss. They also obtained two goals in the head of handicaps, but to no avail.
