Audio Format with out losing quality??

I have 18g of music that is in many different formats. I want to convert them all to the same format. Which format takes up the least space with out losing the audio quality?

  1. WMA Lossless is the best for sound quality, but if you can accept some loss with a giant leap in compression WMA  VBR is the best

  2. You can't do that.  Once you have music in one format, converting it over to another format will cause loss of audio quality.  The only way to possibly preserve quality would be to convert it to wav but wav files are very large.
