Audio coming from an unknown source?

I been having a problem with my computer running on windows xp FP2 an audio clip sometimes an advertisement or sometimes music just starts to play i've checked my task manager an it says nothing is running i've tried using avg, malwarebytes, hijack this but none of them seem to be able to find what going on...can anyone help me please!

  1. You may need an RF filter between your AC outlet and your PC's power cord to eliminate it.

  2. ah ive had this problem to there is a radio station tower that connect to the frequency and you can hear it one the speaker

  3. ive seen were a cheap set of speakers can actually pickup singles from local radio stations, IT,s harmless to your computer, and is caused by bad shielding in the speakers!  

  4. Max ... I am having the same problem.  It started ~1 or 2 weeks ago.  Can't identify the source.

    I will continue to investigate and share with you if I find an answer.

    Update: My problem seems to have been caused by a "freeware" utility that I installed a couple of weeks ago.  It was packaged as "audio-mid-recorder.exe" and it rips the audio track from AVI files to MP3.  I assume the software was somehow interacting with my system's audio drivers.  I removed it yesterday and I haven't heard the unknown audio since.  Perhaps this will give you a clue as to what is going on in your system.  Good luck.
