Audio question???

what is a good audio setup for videoing events and things? like shotgun microphones, mixers, xlr adapters, mic stands, etc.

i have a budget of a little less than $500, and i was kinda wanting two decent shotguns, and maybe an adapter or digital recorder or something? i have no idea

    The answer to your question depends a lot on what equipment you have already and how mobile you need to be.  If you are recording in the field, everything needs to be run off batteries - if you are video taping in a fixed location near AC power, you then can buy equipment that runs off that.

    You can get a inexpensive mixer and mics for less than $500 but then what will you record with?  The easiest way is to have camcorder that already has XLR mic inputs.  These camcorders start at about $1000.

    If you record audio to a separate recorder, you will then need to sync it to the video later using video editing software.
