Audio recording/mixing software?

Question

what's a moderately priced but decent brand to try. I need something that isn't too complex to use, until I become more familiar with it.

A fun program i use is Fruity Loops. Its very complex and theres a lot to learn. But you can figure a lot out on your own. You have to pay for it but there are ways to get around that. Not that I am implying for you to do so. Otherwise a simple program would be Audacity. Its free and easy to use.
