I have a 800 watt audiobahn amp (http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=13490) and it is powering 2 JL audio w0's, The other day it was really hot outside and after driving for 10 minutes the amp went into protection mode and started acting funny? anyone know how to fix this?

  1. well you may have a short in wires check em all,and if you cant find a short in em,then idk

  2. There is not going to be a short. The setup is fine, its the amp itself. If it gets too hot or it becomes unstable, it protects itself, and shuts off. The problem is, it wont unlock itself if something internally failed. This is one of the reasons I stay away form brands like these. You can try to send it to the manufacturer to be fixed, but you may end up spending too much money, and it may be worth it to just buy an new one. Try looking at a JL amp or an alpine. They are more reliable. Sorry for your luck.

  3. Chances are it is toast. Audiobahn is junk and that is a common failure woth those amps. Audiobahn products are all looks and horrible performance. They should worry a little less about crome and flames and design a decent product for once. I would advise you to aviod them in the future. If you are looking for a good quality amp at a low price try Crunch of HiFonics.
