I was looking at some audiobooks on iTunes and I was wondering what the difference is between unabridged and abridged is?

  1. An unabridged audio book is the book read word for word, exactly as the author wrote it.  And abridged book is essentially the same work, but it has been edited down to a shorter format.  The less important details are left out.
