Audiovox nvx225 lost all memory

Question

my gps sat for a couple of weeks unused,battery went dead. when i charged the battery, and went to use it, all the built in memory was gone! screen indicates to put sd card in when i do, it goes to a blank screen. the gps will do nothing else! please help. thank youlost sound
