Hello everyone!

I'm trying to get back into musical theater after a two year hiatus, and it just so happens that a local company is holding auditions for "Sweeney Todd" next week.

I'm having difficulty finding karaoke versions of Sondheim I think "As Long As He Needs Me" from Oliver might be appropriate, due to the use of a cockney accent and a similar songs, so I'm looking for popular, readily available showtunes to use for my audition.

range, but I'm looking for other suggestions. Help!

  1. As Long as he needs me from Oliver is a good idea, but I think that an even better song from  the same show would be "It's a Fine Life." It's definitely darker and probably more appropriate for the part you're auditioning for. You also might try something like "Funny Honey" from Chicago. It might be overdone, but as long as you add your own style to it, it can get you noticed. Best of Luck, and you've chosen a great role to audition for.
