Audition songs for a teen girl?

I'm auditioning for an all kids production of Big at a local theatre. I have auditioned for the same company twice before. I'm now faced with the challenge of finding an audition song. I have a rather wide range as I'm able to hit quite low alto notes and some high first soprano notes as well.

The music director at the theatre is convinced that I'm an alto and I only have myself to blame. Generally, I've tried to play it safe with my audition songs using music consisting of relatively low notes. I'd like to show off my higher range with this audition so I'm looking for some songs for mezzo-sopranoes.

If you could recommend some good songs for my voice and this show, that'd be much appreciated. Thanks!! :-)

well your audition song all depends on the show that is being put on.Generally you want to do a song from a musical that's along the same lines as the show your auditioning for, but since I don't know what what is really along the lines of BIG the musical since I've never seen it,I'd say green-finch and linnet bird from sweeny todd or Neverland from peter pan

Maybe, Mama I'm a Big Girl Now from Harispray, if you sing everyones parts it has a good range.

Also, a song from Mama Mia, they all are pretty high so that could show it off. I have done these before.

i know this sonds strange but i have a range a bit like yours and once 4 an audition i sang "rainbow connection" and it was origenaly sang by kermet the frog (or who ever was the voice of him) but its a bit low in parts then it gets a bit higher and goes up down in places. but when i sang the song i got in the theater group!
