Auditioning: Help/Tips?

I am auditioning for a part in Romeo and Juilliette. We must have an updated resume, a monologue, a recent picture of ourselves, and be confident. I'm looking for some good tips when doing all of these things. Also what would be a good monologue to preform? Lots of help please and thanks.

  1. First, have a good impressive resumè.  Choose a good monologue that's not too short but not too long and that you can put emotion into.  If you're a girl I would suggest the one where Juliette compares Romeo to a rose, and if you're a boy you can say Romeo's monologue before he commits suicide, abut loving Juliette and how she is still beautiful.  These monologues will tell the ones auditioning you that you are aiming not necessarily for those parts, but you're aiming for a big part in the play.  Take pictures in a photo studio with a studio photographer, those are the best pictures you can take and if you take  them there, the ones auditioning you wll know you're seriously getting into the play, not just going there just because.  Be super confident and don't be shy and show them sense of humor and improvisation, specially if you forget your monologue.

    Good Luck!
