Question:

Auditioning for Sweet Charity! What should I sing?

Hi there! I'm auditioning for "Sweet Charity" in about a month or so. I'm 25 and an alto. I don't have the BEST voice, but I can get by. I'm looking for a fun, playful song that will showcase my acting ability and show how I can sell the part of Charity. Ideally, I'd like to do something that's not TOO overdone. Suggestions? THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  1. "Honey-Bun" from South Pacific is a fairly easy, but very playful song . . . . so is "I Enjoy Being A Girl" from The Flower Drum Song

  2. You Should See Yourself  ... Charity's first song.

I saw a college produciton of this, and the girl who sang Charity did this like she was giving herself a pep talk, but she didn't quite believe it. Sort of energetic and sad at the same time.

Get the movie and watch it a couple of times.

I'm a Brass Band is very upbeat, too.
