Audley Harrison believes David Price is tougher than Tyson Fury – Boxing News
Audley Harrison believes his upcoming opponent David Price is tougher than his counterpart Tyson Fury. Harrison is scheduled to challenge Price for the British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles in October.
According to Harrison, his fight for the titles against Price is his ‘last chance saloon.’ If Audley, 40, loses the showdown, it will be the end of his career. Harrison won the Olympic gold in Sydney 12 years back. He was a promising fighter but he never
could live up to the hype.
Now, Harrison is looking forward to take on British heavyweight Price, in order to get the job done. On the other hand, even David Price has admitted the fact that Audley is his career’s biggest threat and once he passes the Olympic gold medallist, he will
be at peace.
Two years ago, Audley lost to British Heavyweight David Haye, which was his career’s main setback. Since then, the heavyweight has not been able to make a comeback.
“After the David Haye fight I think most people thought that I’d never be back in the ring again, so to come back and challenge an unbeaten David Price over Tyson Fury is something I’m really looking forward to. This is definitely the tougher option and
it really is my last chance saloon,” said Audley.
When asked about his thoughts for David Price, Harrison commented, “I’ve got nothing but love and respect for David Price and I’m really grateful for him and Frank Maloney for giving me this opportunity.”
On the other hand, for Audley, Price asserted, “Audley is the biggest threat of my career so far without a doubt. If people want to judge him based on the David Haye fight, then that’s up to them but I won’t be doing that.”
For now, this is the first time Price has expressed his fears on fighting an opponent. Usually, the British heavyweight is certain that he will emerge victorious but this time he is lacking the confidence. A win for Harrison will set his career back on the
track, while a loss will wipe his career off for good.
