Audley Harrison wants to fight David Price of Tyson Fury – Boxing News
Audley Harrison wants to be the next contender to get a British heavyweight title shot. Harrison, in his recent media interaction, revealed that he wants the BBBC (British Board of Boxing Control) to endorse him as the next challenger. Audley is coming off
a win over Ali Adams. He defeated Adams in the fourth round to become the International Masters Champion.
Audley said, “I know after the Haye fight people didn’t expect to see me anywhere near a ring again, but I really enjoyed myself on Saturday night. The place was packed and to have most of the crowd cheering and applauding my finish, made me feel great.
It took strength of character and belief in myself to not throw in the towel and call it a day; I proved to myself I still want to be a prizefighter. The explosive way I finished off Ali Adams, would be a handful for any heavyweight and I’m looking forward
to building from this performance and getting myself back into the mix.”
It should be noted here that during his last bout, Harrison suffered a shoulder injury due to which his chances of fighting anytime soon are less. He needs to go for medical checkups to make sure the injury does not stay forever. Commenting on his injury,
Audley said that he hopes it is just a strain so he can be ready to fight again in July. He further said that he wants to face either David Price or Tyson Fury, since both the fighters have been performing tremendously well recently. Since Price and Fury are
not ready to face each other, Audley wants to face either one of them. He even said that if Sky Sports or Channel 5 will choose another fighter over him then it would be a disappointment for boxing fans.
According to Audley, he is the only fighter in line to fight Fury or Price and he has proved this over time.
For now, Audley will be heading to his consultant to get an insight on his shoulder injury. If all is good, Harrison will be ready to challenge Fury or Price by July.
