Audrey Lacroix pockets Women’s 200m butterfly gold – Swimming news
Audrey Lacroix of PPO-CAN pocketed gold medal of Women’s 200m butterfly on concluding day of the 2013 Arena International Grand Prix at the George F. Haines International Swim Center on Sunday, June 2.
The 29-year-old Lacroix devastated hopes of her opponents in the 200m discipline as she transpired on the finishing end for first position. With her immaculate efforts, Lacroix showed no mercy to her opponents in the 200m discipline and raked the wall for
gold medal.
She remained in a comfortable lead over her following swimmers and surfaced on the finishing end for gold medal with an effort of 2 minutes and 08.64 seconds.
The champion was followed by Jasmine Tosky of Palo Alto Stanford, who was two and a half body length slower and touched the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 10.89 seconds for silver medal.
The second best finisher was chased by Elizabeth Beisel of Blue Fish-NE, who was almost two seconds behind and tapped the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 12.74 seconds for bronze medal.
Fourth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Caitlin Leverenz of California Aquatics, who only 1.02 seconds slower from her preceding swimmer and tapped the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 13.76 seconds.
Fifth position of the race was obtained by Michelle Cefal of Tualatin Hills Swim Club, who was only half a body length behind and tapped the wall with a timing of 2 minutes and 14.11 seconds.
Similarly, Cefal was followed by Sonia Wang of Redlands Swim Team, who was 0.33 seconds away from her foregoing finisher and tapped the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 14.44 seconds for sixth place.
Celina Li of Pleasanton Seahawks, who remained only 0.50 seconds apart and posted a time of 2 minutes and 14.94 seconds, obtained seventh position of the event.
Emma Nunn of NOVA-VA, who was 0.64 seconds slower and clocked a time of 2 minutes and 15.58 seconds, chased li.
In addition, Lacroix expressed happiness over her gruelling efforts while the winners collected medals after the race.
