Aughacasla Suzi, the one to look out for in the R.A Brooks & Son Trophy
The blend of highly strong and modestly accomplished entries is just what the Grade OR R.A Brooks & Son Trophy has brought together. The 475 metres flat challenge is due on Thursday, 4th October, 2012 at Hove. The three weakest links are Verdun Richie, Lusha Beauty and Winter Wonder.
The R. Brain trained, Verdun Richie, has drawn a tricky gate to race from. The fourth trap makes the trip troublesome due to the traffic and crowding that is almost impossible to avoid once breaking right from the middle of the track. The other two will have to struggle hard in the field to end at any decent ranking provided the competition that the remaining three will toss on the track.
The most heartwarming entry is the two-year-old black and white b***h, Aughacasla Suzi, who has taken back the prize money of three out of the four most recent outings.
All her successes were at Hove.
The K. Tester trained was dominant in the coral.co.uk Maiden 475 on 6th September, 2012 at Hove over 475 metres. Racing in the blue jacket, she picked up pace, shifted from the rail to the middle, and did not give up the leading role until she reached the wire in 27.74 seconds.
Winning by 2 ¼ lengths had Locnamon Brian making peace with the second position.
Breaking free from the third trap, Droopys Vieri’s daughter won the Out Best Customer’s Stakes on 13th September, 2012 at Hove over 475 metres. Despite getting crowded, the third trap reeled in for the wire from the first position, and timed the track distance in 27.78 seconds.
Qualifying as the runner-up after missing the trip to the winner’s enclosure by ¾ of a length was, Parkwest Angel.
The highly probable prospect of a hat-trick went down the drain when she finished fourth on 20th September, 2012 at Hove over 475 metres. The prize money was taken away by, Trevi You Go.
Avenging the last loss, the two-year-old claimed the Kelly Classic on 27th September, 2012 at Hove over 475 metres. She defeated Trevi You Go by ¾ of a length.
The black and white b***h is backed by 5 to 4 odds, and will race from the second trap.
