The German side’s head coach is firmly supported by the club, despite the 2-0 loss to league leaders Bayern Munich at the SGL Arena being their 10th defeat of the current season
FC Augsburg team trainer Markus Weinzierl is fully backed by the Bundesliga outfit, even after it's weekend home defeat to Bayern Munich. The loss at the hands of the Bavarian giants is their tenth of the campaign and they now
need at least ten points to be just safe from demotion to the second division.
The Bavarian outfit has one match left before the winter break to redeem itself and get closer Hoffenheim and Fortuna Dusseldorf. General manager Jurgen Rollmann believes that Weinzierl can help the club remain in the top division
despite their slow start to the season.
The board member insisted that Markus will lead the team out of darkness and he has been unlucky in the last few weeks. Moreover, the club face an injury crisis and the summer signings have yet to settle down at the SGL Arena.
They need time before they can display their full potential.
"Markus has our full support. He has been very unfortunate in recent weeks. We have had huge injury problems while the new signings have not really hit it off,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former custodian stressed that any other tactician would face similar problems. Therefore, he is ready to sign a few players in the January transfer window so that his coach will have options selecting the first-team.
"Any other coach would have had the same problems to contend with," the former 1860 Munich and Werder Bremen goalkeeper mused.
"I have made contact with Brazzo (Hasan Salihamidzic) and have also called Andreas Hinkel, but he has other plans," the 46-year-old revealed.
"We are all prepared (for the transfer window), we just now need to complete negotiations," he finally concluded.
Rollmann stated that he approached Hasan Salihamidzic and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andreas-Hinkel-c5733, but both players turned down the club’s interest. Now, he will explore other options that can aid the German side to move up in the league table.
