The VfL Wolfsburg midfielder has signed for FC Augsburg until the end of this season in an attempt to help the club avoid relegation.
FC Augsburg have captured Koo Ja-Cheol from Wolfsburg on a six-month loan deal in an attempt to avoid relegation from this season’s Bundesliga. The youngster was on Augsburg’s radar for a long time, but the club weren’t able to
finalize details previously.
However, the South Korean’s transfer was made possible due to the intervention of Wolfsburg manager, Felix Magath.
The former Schalke boss encouraged Die Wolfe officials to loan out the young midfielder in order to allow him more first team action. He stated that the player would be better suited to Augsburg set-up, and will certainly regain
his confidence with regular first team football.
Augsburg director, Andreas Rettig, showed gratitude to Wolfsburg bosses for allowing the Korean to spend the remainder of this campaign at the SGL arena. He expressed his delight on the youngster’s arrival at Augsburg, hoping that
the 22-year-old will achieve what is expected of him during this four-month period.
While talking to reporters in the wake of Cheol’s transfer, the Director further added:
"We are happy that the signing of Koo Ja-Cheol has worked. We were interested in signing the player some time ago, but it did not work out. Our special thanks to the management at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881, led by Felix Magath: without their
support, the transfer would not have been possible."
On the other hand, the midfielder also expressed his pleasure on his Augsburg move. He insisted that he would do his level best to help Augsburg survive relegation.
"I am glad that my move to Augsburg worked, and I will give everything so that FCA can celebrate their staying in the Bundesliga at the end of the season," The South Korean concluded.
Augsburg are currently 17th on the league standings with 16 points, level on points with bottom placed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SC-Freiburg-c40462. Jos Luhukay’s side are fresh from a 2-2 draw against Kaiserslautern, and will next be up against Hoffenheim
on Saturday, February 04, at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena.
