Bundesliga side FC Augsburg have announced that Michael Thurk’s contract has been terminated with mutual consent.
Thurk made only a handful of appearances for the club in the first-half of the season and had fallen down the pecking order of strikers. The player’s current contract with the club was also set to expire at the end of the season
but Augsburg have allowed the veteran to join third division side FC Heidenheim in the January transfer window by ending his contract.
The club’s General Manager Andreas Rettig announced that a mutual agreement between both the parties has been reached and insisted that the decision will be in the benefit of both the parties involved.
“We have now cancelled the contract of Michael Thurk. It was by mutual consent. We are delighted to have been able to find a mutual agreement with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Thurk. It was the best thing for everyone involved,” a statement was issued
on the club’s official website.
On the other hand, Michael Thurk expressed his satisfaction on the decision made and insisted that he is proud of the time he has spent at the club. He admitted that this season has not been one of the best for him as he has not
had the playing opportunities but stated that he will always relish the three and a half years spent with FC Augsburg.
The striker wished the club the best and remained hopeful that they would be playing in the top flight at this time next year also.
“Even though the final phase of my spell at Augsburg was not fine, in the very end, my feelings about the club are positive. I had three-and-a-half very good seasons at Augsburg. And I would be glad should the club manage to stay

zone with a win as they are 17th on the standings table with 15 points.
