  1. you heard wrong.

  2. o see the full effects of the eclipse, you have to be in the canada/alaska region

  3. The only places in the continental U.S. which will see any of the eclipse (and it will only be a partial eclipse) will be the extreme northern tip of Maine.

  4. i heard it was going to be seen everywhere but, it will be seen best in central usa and in the east coast...

  5. I haven't heard that!  All the "net" stuff I've pulled up state that the eclipse will be seen as a total solar eclipse only in Russia, specifically Siberia.  However, I could be incorrect, but I think not.  It's gonna' be one of those that can be experienced only by people who also see the "Midnight Sun", or so I hear.

  6. Hi Volleyball!

There are only two states that can see any of the eclipse, even a partial eclipse.

In far northern Maine, it happens at sunrise, around 5:15 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time.

The other is the north slope of Alaska, which will see a little of the partial eclipse around 1:50 a.m. Alaska Daylight Time, as the sun glides along the northern horizon thanks to the effect of midnight sun.

In both places, the moon will only graze the edge of the solar disc.  The total eclipse will not be seen from the US.
