“August 24, that's the day I'm pitching.” says New York Yankees starting pitcher CC Sabathia
New York Yankees veteran starting pitcher CC Sabathia is quite hopeful on his return. He recently spoke to the media and said with confidence, "August 24, that's the day I'm pitching. I feel like in a couple of days, I'll be fine,"
Sabathia who has been fortunate in his entire career receiving not a major injury, felt slight stiffness in his left arm in first week of August which provoked team manager to give him potential rest before his stiffness turns into a major problem for him
and for the team.
"I woke up the next day, and my arm was kinda swollen, and I didn't really have any range of motion, So I was really nervous, honestly," said Sabathia and explained about his pain.
Later he had an MRI which did not reveal any serious problem with his pitching arm but still the team management asked him to take rest before his arm gets fully fit to pitch.
"It was tough, even going in and telling (trainer Steve Donohue), I didn't know what was going to come back, what was going to happen. I wasn't going to say anything, but my wife was going to call Stevie herself if I didn't say something. She made me go
in there and tell him," Sabathia said and explained about his recent condition.
Until his last game, Sabathia was pitching with 3.56 ERA along with 12-3 win-loss, 140 strikeouts and 1.21 WHIP.
The 32-year and eleven-year veteran Sabathia is considered one of the best pitchers in the Major League Baseball. His career stats of 3.52 ERA, 188-99 win-loss, 2157 strikeouts and 1.23 WHIP certainly suggests that he possesses some extraordinary pitching
skills and in future years, his  game will further improve and will benefit the Yankees in huge manner.
Yankees, on the other hand, also want him to return soon as the competition has got more excited.  Now every team in the league is preparing for a final shot towards their respective post season spots and the Yankees too, want to achieve next round’s qualification
to get more closer for the chance to win the 2012 World Series title.
