  1. The answers you have already are correct. Buy on line - before you go if you like - at www.irishrail.ie.  There are trains to Cork nearly every hour.  As far as I know there are not as many on a sunday but all the times will be on this website.  You also need to look at how far you are from the station (Heuston).  Public transport on Sundays starts later than usual so check the local transport as well. In Dublin the Dart (electric train) runs all along the coast from north to south so if you are on this line you can check the times of the Dart on the same website.

    However, be aware that this is a bank holiday weekend in Ireland.  Monday the 6th is the bank holiday.  This means that trains will be quite full.  However, Sunday is probably the day that will be least busy.

  3. Sure, there is a train almost every hour. It's quite expensive but you can get better deals online at www.irishrail.ie (I think single Dublin-Cork is some 30 euro).
