  1. as a suprise for my mums 60th last year, we hired a limo and it took 12 of us to a restaurant for the lunchtime. some friends and family met us there. afterwards when it took us back home it dropped us back at my sisters where we'd already prepared a table of 'party' food and a cake and balloons etc for the tea time. more friends came just for the afternoon, and that was nice for the children too. sometimes its just nice to have a good 'old fashioned'  birthday party, its fun and can bring back lovely memories of childhood.

  2. Well I am an aunt and when I turned 50 we had a backyard picnic so that the kids could run and be as loud as they wanted. I said to my friends well I am turning 50 I can laugh or cry about it  and I am not going to cry so I invited everyone I know to have a party with me

  3. Family time.Do a potluck style dinner. Then get out some of her baby photos, and just enjoy the memories. Then bring out a nice Champagne cake and ice cream....

  4. have a pot luck dinner and cake at someones house

  5. well, its better just to hang out and play games, get a catering service on 88db, you can choose what food you like and have it send to your home....have fun
