Tonight, at the Allianz Arena, Munich, Ligue 1 side http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lille-OSC-c39800 will be relying on the defensive astuteness of 27-year-old Aurelien Chedjou as the northerners look set to take on German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in their fourth group game of this season’s edition of the UEFA Champions League.
Ahead of the game against Franck Ribery and co, Les Dogues know that they need to take at least a point from the Bavarians if they are to stand any chance of progressing to the knockout stages of the competition.
However, Aurelien Chedjou says that his side needs to take all three points tonight because this team made a real effort to be in the Champions League this season.
In the last two years, the Cameron international has become one of the best defenders in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899. However, despite showing such rapid progress, the native of Douala is not getting carried away because he feels that he still has a lot to prove even though he has tried to erase some flaws in his game.
“My learning curve is upward. I will not say that I have nothing to prove. I showed that I had at least the level of L 1 and perhaps more.”
However, the 27-year-old still has his own ambitions to worry about and is aiming to secure a move to an even bigger club that Lille. The central defender strongly considered making a move away from Villeneuve d’Ascq this summer but his request was denied by the club management.
Although he was disappointed at the refusal, Chedjou understands that leaving the club where he has made his name when it could not find a replacement would have been wrong.
“I was disappointed because I’m a competitor, so I don’t hide it. The club came back to me to tell me that there was no potential replacement if I left. We sat around a table and found an agreement. I’m not complaining about getting up at 6:00 and going to work.”
Honest and straightforward, the talented defender’s performances against Bayern Munich tonight might help him in attaining his ambition.
