The film maker presided over Napoli from the depths of Serie C into the Serie A; in what has been a truly remarkable story worthy of being turned into a film itself.
The Italian has always been a romantic figure, and he still clings on the idea of replicating his feat with the Vesuviani, with another club. The Partenopei outfit were in the doldrums of Italian football and the glory years seemed light years behind them,

The wealthy film producer injected cash into the Neapolitan outfit, and secured the services of a top class tactician in Edy Reja. De Laurentiis was talking to an assembled media and recalled his second season with the San Paolo outfit when the Neapolitan outfit’s sporting director reflected on the idea of buying another club, remarking:
“The second year in Serie C1, [then sporting director Pierpaolo] Marino asked if I wanted to buy another club.”
He went on to comment on his interest in investing in a club besides Napoli; which would give him the same sense of achievement he has felt presiding over the Vesuviani. He went on to state:
“The idea that I want more clubs around the world has been around for years. Because I’m revolutionising the film company does not mean that I cannot do the same in football.”
The football producer went on to state his investment preferences and markets that he feels are best suited to invest in, and mentioned:

De Laurentiis would be keeping the UEFA regulations of owning clubs in mind before investing in another club.
