Aurelio De Laurentiis insists Cavani will not be sold if release clause is not met – Football news
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has admitted that the club will not sell Edinson Cavani below the release clause and insisted that the sides interested will have to pay the amount that is required in order to land the striker.
He also added that he had a meeting with Manchester City but the English club’s offer was not acceptable.
Edinson Cavani has been the prime target for many big clubs and the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, Real Madrid and Manchester City have been widely linked with the attacker. The player has a €63 million buy-out clause which many clubs are not willing to match.
De Laurentiis claimed that he had a meeting with Manchester City but the former Premier League champions’ bid was considerably short from Napoli’s demands.
“The only meeting I've had has been with Manchester City, but the offer was inadequate,” the president stated.
The chief stated that he does not need a face-off with Cavani and has admitted that Napoli will not sell the player less than the buy-out clause.
“There is no need to have a face to face with Cavani. If a club offers 63 million euros then we would allow him to leave. The release clause will have been activated,” he continued.
De Laurentiis added that it is not fair on the striker to speculate about his future currently as he is on international duty. He stressed that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 will listen to offers but if there is no suitable bid, the Uruguayan international will stay at the club
for next season.
“It's not fair that Cavani has distractions while he is playing in an important tournament like the Confederations Cup. Should we receive an offer, then fine. If this offer doesn't arrive the Cavani will stay in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 with us,” he concluded.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Edinson-Cavani-c11955 found the net an amazing 38 times for Napoli in the previous season.
