The Partenopei chief warns his team against complacency ahead of their clash with Inter Milan; the chief also hopeful over increase in ticket allocation in Europe.
Napoli President, Aurelio De Laurentiis, is not looking to take Inter Milan for granted, and has urged his team to take the Nerazzurri seriously.
The Partenopei side will host Inter Milan in matchday 25 encounter of the ongoing season on Sunday, February 26, 2012. Claudio Ranieri’s men are in devastating form of late, having witnessed six defeats in their last seven matches in all competitions. On the other hand, Napoli are in rich vein of form and are buzzing with confidence after beating Chelsea by 3-1 in a recent UEFA Champions League match.
The Azzurri trounced La Beneamata 3-0 in the return fixture of the ongoing season, but Laurentiis has urged his men not to take the former Italian Champions seriously. The Partenopei chief has urged his team to get back amongst the top three, and believes that winning against Inter will definitely lighten the chances of UEFA Champions League qualification for next season.
The 62-year-old has urged his players to show the same spirit as they did against Chelsea, and is expecting a strong backlash from the depleted San Siro outfit.
While talking to Radio Marte, Laurentiis enthused:
“We are five points behind third place so to get a result against Inter would boost moral but also our general expectation. However, we know it will not be easy, as even if Inter are not going through a positive period, they have great players and so we must be careful. They will come here with a knife between their teeth and we will have to deal with them in the same spirit shown against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786.”
Meanwhile, the film tycoon has appealed to UEFA to increase Napoli’s seat allocation for their visit to Stamford Bridge next month.
“If they fail to sell out, I’d like to stockpile more tickets for our fans. At least 2,700-2,800, but no more than 3,500-4,000."
