The veteran striker is in the last year of his contract at Juventus Stadium, and has announced his intentions of ending his almost 20-year affiliation with the Turin giants. Several Italian, Middle East and Major League Soccer
clubs are interested in signing the legendary striker.
The Partenopei chief has also joined the list of admirers of the striker, and revealed that he contacted the 37-year-old for a movie. Laurentiis insisted that he loves the former Padova star’s connection with the Juventus shirt,
and will leave the Stadio San Paolo door open for him whenever he wants to join the Azzurri.
The 62-year-old believes that apart from a player role, Del Piero would also make a good consultant for the club.
While talking to La Repubblica, Laurentiis said:
“I’ve always been an admirer, I have contacted him in the past to make a movie. I love his upbringing and attachment to his shirt. There is always room for him, but if it really depended on me, I would only play youngsters aged
19 and 20. Perhaps he would make an extraordinary ‘consultant’ for the club, but I think he would be more willing to do that for Juventus.”
Laurentiis’ Napoli will travel to Juventus Stadium to take on Antonio Conte’s side on Sunday, April 1. The Azzurri patron insists that the games against Juve excite him alot, and was all praise for the Old Lady.
