  1. Well I'm only 17, and I've only been actually following the game for a few years (I used to watch occasionally before that, but I don't really remember). But I do agree that the rules are really soft. Fair enough looking after their safety, but they do take it a bit too far. The best bit of any game is where the players get really into each other. Games like the last Western Derby, the finals game between Sydney and West Coast last year where O'Loughlin and Hunter were getting into each other... they are the greatest bits of the game, and even they're weak because all they can do without getting in all sorts of trouble is shove each other around a bit.

  2. You have obviously not seen what it is actually like to go through the pain of training, playing the match and then post match agony!

It is a bloody tough hard game and if you have actually played, or been a partner of a player at any level you would probably not have asked this question.

  3. Yeah i reckon the game is too soft. I mean fair enough they should add those rules to protect players, otherwise we would regret it in a serious case. Anyhow The rules are s h i t especially the hands in the back rule. And now players are always milking free kicks from umpires for no reason, just because it's easier.

I loved the old footy better than now...but I like these players better. The game is getting soft and we need more like fights and stuff (on field)
