  1. Refer to your manual if you have one. If not try contacting the manufacturer and get details from them. The problem with doing it yourself is that you may void a warrenty if it is still valid. Go to a registered repairer if you can't do anything else. Don't use any products or chemicals to try clean it, you'll be ding more harm than good.

Sorry I couldn't be of much more help but it is more in the hands of F&P or a registered repairer.

    Goodluck.

  2. Sounds as though you may have inadvertantly made more probs for yourself. Perhaps the flakes are coming off the metal or if not perhaps they are like a layer of scummy stuff that is actually coming off and leaving the machine cleaner. I would consult with a F and P technician type person.

I have a F and P top loader and would like to pass on this tip which I shared with my repairman who was very happy about it. First I use a liquid detergent, cos the powder ones build up scum in your machine and are also made with salt as one of the ingredients which is not good for our environment either- get one without  phosphates in it.

I also use white vingegar as a rinse aid, I buy the 2 L generic brand.

Using both of these keeps my machine and the pipes and things in good order and stops corrosion and gunk building up in it.

One last thought - perhaps you can get a hose into the machine from the laundry tub or even an outside one and carefully see if you can flush the machine out a bit more or alternatively run it with some white vinegar in the water  a couple of times to help rinse it out - it may do the trick.

If you do the hose thing, be careful not to get water where it should not be - hopefully you have a hose with a nozzle that you can turn on/off when needed and please disconnect the electricity to the machine while you do it too - so that it is safe.

Hope this is of some help
