That on a mobile phone, you can call emergency by dialling 112 (same as 000)?? and apparently it is more effective than 000? I just completed half of my first aid course (run by an ex emergency service worker) and he told us this.

Also, in about 90% of cases this number can be dialled from a locked keypad as opposed to about 50% when using 000.

This number can also be dialled in most countries in the world and that will get to their emergency number!!

  3. Yes, my kids were taught that at school.  They said that 112 is more trackable if you needed to dial for help, but couldn't talk or didn't know where you were.

    and according 2 one of my friends, when she didnt ahve very good reception she cood call 911 and 112 but not 000

    its weirddd
