Aussies. How many bonuses are there for carer's allowance?

I have just started recieving carer's allowance for my 8yr old son and have heard that there is a payment of $600 to be paid by the end of June and then another $1000 after the 1st of July? Is it only the one $600 bonus or both?

If you receive the carers allowance, there is one $600 payment- If you are receiving the carer payment (pension) there is a bonus of $1000. If you are receiving both payments you receive both bonuses, and they should both go into your account before June 30th.

I am unsure if you are eligible for the bonuses if you weren't getting the payments at the time of the budget, when the bonuses were announced.

if you were getting the carer's allowance before the budget was announced then you will get the $600 bonus otherwise you won't. there is supposed to be a legislated $1000 bonus over the next 4 years to be paid in July that was legislated in last years Howard government budget. not sure if we'll still get that but it will be nice if we do.
