Ok so my friends and I would like to travel to Australia for an "adventurous" vacation. There are 4 of us 2 boy 2 girls 26-31yrs. My good friend currently lives in Sydney and I would like to stop and see her for a couple days.

We want to see the rain forest, beaches, go hiking, camping (maybe?), city life is good too...

Where should we travel to!?!? Are there any good tours you would recommend?? We have 2 weeks to do it all in, and I would like to cover at least 3 different cities.

Thanks!! =)

  1. For the beaches the Gold Coast (And city life too) go to ayres rock, for rainforests I'd google it, though I think there are some good ones up in Queensland. While you're up in Queensland check out Australia zoo! You may want to check out the theme parks near the gold coast (Dolphins and Tigers!) Oh and please take the time to do some of the history, I hate it when ppl come but don't learn anything. But don't hang around Sydney at night, there are a small number of gangs in Sydney. Not like bloods and Crips but just random gangs. If you'd like to learn about Politics and stuff come down to Canberra. People say it has the best food in Australia. But only some say that. If you're into music and culture then Melbourne would be awesome!

    Hope I helped

  2. Hi,

The best place to visit is the Tourism Australia website and that has information on all the states and territories here in Australia.

    Tourism Australia:

Another great place to visit is Canberra which is Australia's Nations Capital (which is where I'm from).

We have plenty of things to offer visitors to the Nations Capital such as national attractions such as the Australian War Memorial, National Museum of Australia, National Gallery of Australia, Questacon - Australia's Science and Technology Centre, AIS - Australian Insitute of Sports, Old Parliament House, Parliament House.

There are plenty of other things to see and do here in Canberra all year round such as festivals, markets, wine tours, bike riding, going for walks around Lake Burley Griffin and also going on the lake cruises.

A good time to come is during September and October when Floriade is on. It's a big flower show with lots of exhibits, markets stalls, shows on everyday.

This year there will be a night festival where you can come along at night and enjoy a movie, music and have dinner under the stars amongst the lit flower beds while enjoying the night markets.

Floriade is on from Saturday 13th September until Sunday 12 of October.

Floriade is our biggest event in Canberra and we attract thousands of visitors daily from all over Australia and internationally as well. Last year we got close to 400,000 which is a Floriade record since we first started 21 years ago.

For more information about Floriade please visit the website.

  3. Tasmania is a pretty awesome place to visit if your interested in nature, and such - the most beautiful rainforests. Northern Territory if you are interested in the desert, and indigenous culture (Uluru, and Kata-Tjuta etc), and the Gold Coast for beaches and sunshine and fun-parks, and there's no missing the Great Barrier Reef

  4. Hey there!

I live in Melbourne, which is a great city to get around even if you've never been. The city life is awesome for tourists, with lost of restaurants and arcades to travel down (shopping etc.). As for tours and what-not, the Great Ocean Road is almost a must! They run day and weekend trips which can be booked even the day beforehand, so don't sweat the organisation.

Trips to Alice Springs and up the North of Australia are very popular. It gets mighty warm, though. Day trekking with the Aboriginal people is a great cultural activity that many Australians never get around to doing, although it's our heritage. Haha!

Queensland is my least favourite spot to live, but for a holiday and tourists it's fabulous!!! The theme parks are pretty fun (DreamWorld, Sea World, Wet 'n Wild etc.) and i hear that the nightlife is pretty good.

Perth is the spot if you want relaxing BEACHES and beautiful scenery. Surfing all the way! Although, Western Australia isn't good for much else.

I would not recommend Adelaide. Even i found it boring to visit, and it's a long standing joke between Australians that it IS very boring. Harsh, but true.

I hope this has been helpful!

Sydney, Melbourne, Queensland and Perth are your best bets. Day trips and activities are really flexible. Work out your itinery and make Australia work around it. =)

    Happy traveling!
