Will Australian cricketers who are signed up to an IPL team be forced to choose between their IPL commitments and those of their state sides in the domestic competition? There’s a clash between the Sheffield Shield final and the start of the 2010 IPL season.

The IPL is starting earlier in 2010 to accommodate the World Twenty20 in April, which could create problems for players involved in both the IPL and the Sheffield Shield final – of which Tweny20 batting dynamo and Victorian captain Cameron White is one.

While IPL chief Lalit Modi has made threats that the contracts of Australian players would be torn up if they didn’t arrive for the start of the competition it’s likely a resolution (probably by taking a chunk out of the players’ IPL contracts) will be found.
